In order to make writing effective one has to know the rules of English capitalization. Without capitalization the meaning of the sentence might change, therefore it is good to know the rules to make your writing and reading more effective and meaningful.
Rule 1 Always capitalize the first word of a sentence. ‘She lives in Chicago. She is a ballet dancer.’ Rule 2 Always capitalize the pronoun ‘I’ I am going to the park. I am single. I am 30 years old. Rule 3 Capitalize names My sister Joana is a lawyer. Patty and Robert live in Paris. Rule 4 Capitalize titles that come before names of persons Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Doctor Robson, Professor Wilson We mostly don’t capitalize titles when they come after the names. ‘Jack Welch is the chairman of General Electric.
Rule 5 Capitalize names of continents, countries, states, cities, towns, streets, seas Indian Ocean, Singapore, Brazil, Paris, River Ganges, California, England, San Diego, and Newbury Street

Capitalize names of deities and holy books

Capitalize names of businesses, schools, buildings, organizations

Rule 9
Capitalize names of wars, major battles, and historical periods and events Second World War, Crusades, Hundred Years' War, Battle of Normandy, Victorian era, Treaty of Waitangi, Indus Valley Civilization
Rule 10
Do not capitalize names of seasons
‘I love summers more than winters.’
Rule 11 Capitalize first and last words of names of publications. Also capitalize short verbs like ‘is’, ‘are’, or ‘be’. But do not capitalize small words like ‘a’, ‘an’, ‘the’, ‘but’, ‘as’, ‘if’, ‘and’, ‘or’ ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” ‘The Lord of the Rings”
